2010
2010 – $415,000 –
In 2010, Greenway Arts Alliance revamped its Arts Education program and renamed it Greenway Institute for the Arts.
Lions became journalists when Eye of the Lion, Fairfax High’s student news show, was produced and broadcast on campus.
$165,000 went to the after-school and in-school drama, poetry, and film classes, but this time, dance classes were included in the lineup! That news does make me feel like dancing.
The development office got another $250,000 to aid with their capital campaign.
Guess what else happened in 2010? That’s right, major party time. Congratulations, Greenway! The organization won the Social Enterprise “Fastpitch” Award from SEA Los Angeles. I agree with SEA Los Angeles. Greenway was well on its way to becoming the most successful ongoing social enterprise program in the history of Los Angeles Unified School District. Good call. It’s almost like they could see into Greenway’s illustrious future!
