At Melrose Trading Post, we love to highlight community organizations and non-profit groups. One of our frequent collaborators is the LA Poet Society.

LA Poet Society’s mission is “to create a bridge, fusing the communities of Los Angeles and Southern California Poets, poetry organizations, Writer groups, booksellers, publishers, literary enthusiasts and supporters into a unified social and literary network, making the literary arts inclusive, accessible, and visible to all.”

In July, we collaborated with LAPS through hosting two poetry readings on the Greenway Main Stage, as well as bringing in local poets to offer instant typewriter poetry for patrons every Sunday.

Disability Pride Month Celebration

On July 21, Poets Maxwell Joy Moore, Courtney Ravelo, Estephanie Seis and Annalicia Aguilar joined us to read their original poetry centered on the theme of Disability Pride.

Sizzling Spoken Word Reading

On July 28, LAPS Founder Jessica Wilson and Anastasia Fenald brought spoken word readings to the Greenway Main Stage!
