Greenway Arts at the Great Pumpkin Bash!

The Melrose Trading Post & Greenway Court Theatre promotion teams set up at The Great Pumpkin Bash, and event presented by LA Council District 5 and Board of Public Works.

The Great Pumpkin Bash offered locals the opportunity to compost their Halloween pumpkins and drop off e-waste at Pan Pacific Park on Sunday, November 5, 2023.  The Los Angeles Dodgers’ Strike Zone featured Dodger baseballs and retired Dodger players.  The Pumpkin Smashing Zone was a popular spot, and locals dropped off their e-waste with Homeboy Industries.

The Greenway Arts Alliance booth was vibrant with photos of the market and theater.  Interns Lila and Ellora gave away free tickets to the Melrose Trading Post and to the show at the Greenway Court Theatre, “ABCD – American Born Confused Desi.”

The booths next to the Greenway Arts Alliance booth featured three local artists from the Melrose Trading Post.  Each artist has an eco/nature focus on their artwork, and they got to share their methods with the people who came to the event.

One featured artist was Jordan Kent from Kent Bindery.  Jordan showed anyone interested how she makes paper out of used pieces of paper she collects:

MTP also featured Bo Sapphire from Little Gem Gallery, who showed her Cyanotype artwork and methods.

The third artist featured was Julia Godoy, who makes paint out of natural materials, and creates beautiful art with it!
