Greenway’s The Color Purple receives 2 NAACP Awards and 7 nominations!
Greenway’s 2019 production of the hit musical The Color Purple was nominated for 7 NAACP theatre awards and the winner of two, Best Ensemble Cast/99 Seat Theatre and Best Music Director/99 Seat Theatre – Patrick Gandy!
Nominated Best Producer, Greenway Arts Alliance, Best Choreography/Jeffrey Polk, Best Costumes/Dana Rebecca Woods, Best Lighting/Azra King-Abadi, Best Director / Best Director of a Musical, Jeffrey Polk. The Color Purple was also part of Greenway’s literacy program GreenwayREADS, over 600 LAUSD students worked with Greenway’s teaching artists and came to see in-school matinees free of charge.
