As we approach May, Greenway says goodbye to the LA Get Down festival,

the annual month-long celebration of hip hop and spoken word we hold in honor of National Poetry Month every April.

Our 2025 Hip Hop Cypher!

This year’s festival was a joyous event full of faces old and new alike as they shared their voices and experienced the joy of community. This year was our first year offering cash prizes for the winners of the Hip Hop Cypher and Youth Slams, and it was a gratifying way to show our support for the up and coming artists in our community that we look forward to continuing for the years to come.

Father Amde received this year’s Wordsmith Achievement Award.

Next year is our 10 year anniversary and we anticipate another beautiful festival to share with all of you.
