What’s Next at GCT: Hollywood Fringe + More!
It’s been a busy year so far at our theatre, from I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter’s sold-out run to the annual month-long poetry and hip hop festival, LA Get Down.
We are thrilled to announce that Greenway Court Theatre is an official venue of the Hollywood Fringe Festival taking place in June – an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June, the arts infiltrate Hollywood – from fully equipped theatres to neighborhood parks – all hosting hundreds of productions by local and international arts companies and independent performers alike. In the upcoming weeks, we will be announcing the specific shows that will be held at GCT for the festival, so stay tuned!
We also have two comedy shows coming up during June, the first on Sunday, June 2nd hosted by Kasha Patel, and another hosted by Wendy Hammers on Wednesday, June 12th.
After June wraps up, we are excited for a co-production with Knot Free Productions of Into The Woods opening Friday, July 19th, and running until mid-August.
Looking forward to the fall, we will have our 2024 GreenwayReads production, a yearly collaboration between Greenway Institute for the Arts and Greenway Court Theatre to engage Fairfax High School and LAUSD students in a multi-disciplinary approach to education focusing on a play and its source material. The announcement of this year’s production will be coming soon! Last year’s GreenwayReads production I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter sold out its extended run and was a smash hit with audiences and students alike. We can’t wait to share with our audience all that we have in store in the upcoming months and to continue to celebrate our community of artists and performers on the Greenway stage.
