The Garden is an immersive and transformative new playwriting development series with an emphasis on nurturing emerging voices and promoting inclusivity. Throughout the process participants will receive invaluable feedback from industry professionals, engage in cold readings and participate in workshops, all culminating in a staged public reading.

In keeping with our commitment to engage with societal issues, The Garden at Greenway Court Theatre has chosen the topic of  homelessness in Los Angeles  for its inaugural season. Each selected playwright will explore this subject and its themes in any capacity that is most compelling to them as artists. We encourage prospective playwrights to dive into this subject beyond the typical surface level; exploring beyond the lived reality of the encampments to the many facets of what homelessness means.
