Here at Greenway Court Theatre, we are celebrating an incredible closing of I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter and preparing for our LA Get Down Festival in April!

I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter closes extended, sold-out run!

Last weekend saw the closing of I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter after a month-long run of sold out shows. It was a joy to share this vibrant and poignant production with our audience, and even more so to see so many new faces come to experience the magic of our theatre. To sell out a show before opening is a huge achievement and we owe it all to the hard work and dedication of everyone here at Greenway.

Adapted for the stage by Isaac Gómez based on Erika L. Sánchez’s award-winning novel, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter follows Julia, a Chicago high school student as she navigates the trials and tribulations of adolescence while reeling from the sudden death of her sister, Olga – who might not have been quite as perfect as she seemed.

Preparations commence for our annual LA Get Down Festival

The LA Get Down is an annual hip hop and poetry festival held here at Greenway Court Theatre. Past years programming has included open-mics, workshops, poetry slams, performances, and more; all uplifting and celebrating the spoken word artists in the community. This year will feature a one-man show from Dante Basco, Da Poetry Lounge’s InkSlam, Youth Day at Melrose Trading Post, various workshops, and more to be announced!
